2025
The STILS project aims to generate a significant contribution to the scholarly discourse regarding trauma-informed lawyering and the provision of trauma-informed legal services to clients and consumers.
At the recent LIV National Access to Justice and Pro Bono Conference, STILS research team members and senior legal aid service staff presented a panel on the STILS project and the provision of trauma-informed lawyering training to lawyers and legal aid staff.

STILS staff attended the Justice as Trauma Conference in 2025, attending workshops exploring client experiences in the justice system.
2026
As a part of the broader research framework, the STILS team is nearing-completion of a state of the knowledge review of all extant literature and research regarding trauma-informed lawyering.
The team looks forward to publishing and sharing this paper shortly.
The STILS team endorses and celebrates the release of Jennifer Chen’s Churchill Trust report exploring trauma-informed lawyering.
Jennifer is Project Lead for the With You training project at National Legal Aid. STILS’ partnership alongside With You, and their delivery of trauma-informed training are key components of the STILS project design.
